Posted 08/03/2003 under blogging tools

ThingamaBlog is a cross platform, standalone blogging application written in 100% pure Java. Maintaining a blog with ThingamaBlog does not require any third party blogging hosts like Blogger, Movable Type, or Live Journal. Additionally, no PHP, Perl, MySQL, etc, is required. In fact, all you need to run a blog with ThingamaBlog is an ordinary account on a web server.

Blogs - Blog Software / Blog Hosting - Forum Software/Hosting

Posted 02/02/2003 under blogging tools

blogs.cc is a blog software/hosting system that costs $9.95 per month. They provide an ‘interesting’ feature comparison chart that claims they are the only blogging tool to provide categories, votable messages, log-in passwords with differnet access levels and other features which I know are available in pMachine as well as many other blogging applications. Hmmm…......

Metateque

Posted 02/02/2003 under blogging tools

Metateque’s claim is that you can “publish without fear.  Metateque is a unique, easy weblog authoring system for people with more imagination and opinions than time.  If you’d rather publish great sites than search for content, wrestle with a web server or cut code, please enter.”

At $19.95, Metateque is possibly worth consideration and it is available for a free trial period download. When I have some spare time I may try it out.

Hiplogs: blogging with your hiptop

Posted 15/01/2003 under blogging tools

and now… there are ‘hiplogs’.

Got a hiptop? Then spit it out!

Hiplog is blogging by hiptop. Send email from your hiptop to hiplog@hiplog.com The subject of your message becomes the title of your hiplog entry. The text of your message become the text of the entry. Want to make your hiplog a photojournal? Take snapshots with your hiptop and send them to hiplog. It’s as easy as sending email.

scriptygoddess

These ladies claim not to be actual goddesses, but hey, who really knows. With the amount of information and scripts relating to web sites generally , but more specifically weblogs built using Movable Type, this site is a great resource.
